Desktop users use a sync app that is installed on the system running QuickBooks. The app automatically syncs data once a day when the user opens the Desktop file. Syncs typically take 30-60 seconds; the app is idle the rest of the day. Users do not need to initiate any activity; the sync client is automatic.
QuickBooks Online and Xero files are automatically synced in the evening hours and do not require user activity.
